Duke Health Senior Revenue Manager Placed by Spirit Consulting

Mar 6, 2020

Duke University Health System retained Spirit Consulting to assist in finding a Senior Revenue Manager for the Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) at Duke University Hospital System in Durham, North Carolina.  Following a thorough and national search, Spirit Consulting recruited Kimberly Govan-Parks, M.B.A., in August.  Kimberly brings nearly 20 years of management and director experience into her new role at Duke, coming most recently from Henry County Hospital as a Revenue Cycle Manager—a role which she held for two years.  Govan-Parks owns a Bachelor’s degree in Management & Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Spring Arbor University in 2012.

Kimberly has developed her healthcare leadership and managerial skills for over a two decade span, serving the revenue and financial services in several different healthcare systems along the way.  Beginning with ProMedica Physicians as a Supervisor of Credential & Contract Management for nine years in 1999, Govan-Parks implemented new credentialing software and oversaw multi-specialty physicians.  She worked in this capacity for nine years before transitioning to UTMC Medical Center in 2008.  Govan-Parks held the titles of Manager of Reimbursement & Denials and Director of Patient Financial Services, honing skills in patient reimbursement and overseeing all patient revenue for the healthcare system.  Kimberly continued her high-level revenue cycle expertise through the past four years at some of the leading clinically integrated healthcare systems—including Mercy Health System—before being hired by Duke Health.

Duke Health is committed to conducting innovative basic and clinical research, rapidly translating breakthrough discoveries to patient care and population health, providing a unique educational experience to future clinical and scientific leaders, improving the health of populations, and actively seeking policy and intervention-based solutions to complex global health challenges. Underlying these ambitions is a belief that Duke Health is a destination for outstanding people and a dedication to continually explore new ways to help their people grow, collaborate and succeed. The Duke Health mission, vision and values statements are the fundamental building blocks for Duke’s success as a leading national academic health center committed to advancing health together.

We wish Kimberly the best as she begins her leadership over the Duke Health PRMO Revenue department.  Spirit Consulting is confident that she—with her strong revenue competencies and experience driving capital while keeping patient’s interests first—will be a great fit for the Senior Revenue Manager position with the Duke University Health System.
