Duke University Health System recently retained Spirit Consulting to assist in strengthening their Health Information Department with searches for a Director of Health Information Management and Manager of Release of Information.

The Manager of Release of Information (ROI) will be directly accountable for the assigned functional unit(s) within HIM.  The Manager will assure that opportunities to improve processes are identified and will work collaboratively across the HIM Department as well as across the organization to resolve.  He or she will assist the Director in establishing and executing strategies that assure efficiency, effectiveness and regulatory compliance of HIM functions. The Manager of Release of Information will manage the ROI unit within the HIM Department at Duke Health, leading approximately 60 members of the ROI team.

The position of Director of Health Information Management (HIM) will be responsible for managing, coordinating and performing day-to-day HIM operations for the Duke University Health System facilities. The Director will implement and support all Corporate HIM initiatives and activities.  He or she will provide support at the facility level for daily department operations, reimbursement opportunities, various program and implementation, and HIM-specific system installations as well as supervising the Manager of Release of Information, the 60-person ROI team and 30 additional scanning personnel.
